Synopsis:

For those who come into contact with contracts or who are involved in contract making in the course of their work, a basic knowledge of contract law can help avoid legal problems down the track, or provide an early alert to seek specialised legal advice.

This two day workshop is designed to provide a foundation understanding of contract law for non-lawyers. Utilising a format that includes hands-on problem solving and ample opportunity for questions, this workshop explains difficult concepts in easy to understand terms.

Presenter Details:

Professor Des Butler is the author or co-author of two books on Contract Law, both of which are now in their second editions, and has lectured in Contract Law for nearly twenty years. He also has written books and articles on liability for psychiatric injury, media law and maritime law.

Dr Bill Dixon has taught Contract Law for the last eleven years. Bill completed his doctorate on the topic "An Examination of the Common Law Obligation of Good Faith in the Performance and Enforcement of Commercial Contracts in Australia". He is a co-author of four books together with many other publications.

Cancellation:

Registration cancellations will not be accepted unless made in writing to the Course Manager, either by mail, facsimile or email (carley.chapman@qut.edu.au).

Cancellations received prior to COB 7 November 2008 will be refunded less $100 (please note if you have not paid you will still be invoiced for this amount). No registration refunds will be made after COB 7 November 2008. Cancellations received after COB 7 November 2008 will be charged the full fee (even if payment has not already been received).
